Not like I was going anywhere, but to the main room for a fucking drink, anyway. She has my nerves worked over but I need a minute before I take her to the other house.
“What are you still doin’ here?” Pres stomps toward me, not at all happy that I haven’t left with Nina yet.
He nods his understanding when I hold my glass up.
“I need you on a run tomorrow night.” He says. I nod my head but I don’t look up at him. I know what run it is, and I’m amped up to handle it.
“Who you sendin’ with me?” I ask as I glance over at him sitting on the stool next to me.
“I was thinkin’ of lettin’ you pick who you take. The shit you’re up against isn’t that serious to send out an army.” He says. I bring the glass to my lips, swallowing the amber liquid. Cursing the burn as it slides down my throat, I tip my head back.
“I’ll call them, let them know to be ready. Let me get this chick out of here.” Pres nods as I stand, leaving my glass on the counter.
“You got a plan for that shit?” He asks. I turn back to face him again, and nod my head. He doesn’t need to worry about that part at all.
“Don’t I always? I’ll get her set up and talk to you after the run.” With a grunt, he turns back to his drink.
I walk back upstairs thinking about how this is going to work out.
I have my own place, but I don’t take anyone there. At all. Not even guys from the club.
We have a shared house outside the actual club house. Most of the guy’s crash over there during the week, but that’s the only place I can take her to.
“So, here’s the thing.” I say as I walk into the room. I close the door behind me when I notice Nina on the bed in tears.
Her head pops up as she quickly wipes the tears from her reddened face.
“You okay?” I ask. She nods her head as she sits up, crossing her legs in front of her.
“We’re leavin’. The place you’ll be stayin’ at can get a little rowdy and rough. I’ll set you up in my room there, but I wouldn’t suggest roamin’ free at night.” I tell her. Her eyes track my every move as I grab a bag off the dresser. I might as well take a trip back to my place after I drop her off and get her settled in.
“What the hell does that mean? You aren’t staying there, too?” She asks, a new fear in her voice. Shaking my head, I don’t look over at her. What difference does that make?
“You’re not the best hostage taker.” She mouths. Turning to look at her now, the girl’s mouth amazes me.
“Never claimed to be. I know you won’t run from there. Far too many assholes bigger and nastier than me, will make sure of that.” I tell her. Her eyes widen slightly before averting them from mine. I’m not into babying anyone along, that includes her.
I finish loading up the small bag before I walk over to her.
“I meant what I said. Don’t mess with them, they won’t mess with you.” Nodding her head slowly, I extend my hand to her.
Helping her off the bed, we head out to her new place until I figure shit out.
I didn’t know taking a hostage would be as easy as it has been with her. So far, aside from her insane mouthing, she is actually fairly easy going.
Home sweet home
Chapter 6
Pulling up to the house, I can see all the bikes and cars lined up. This isn’t the ideal place to keep Nina, but there is no other place for her to go.
I climb off my bike, extending my hand to help her off before she passes me the extra helmet.
“Can I ask you somethin’?” Thoughts have filtered through my brain all day about this girl, but I didn’t feel like it was my place to ask. Now, I’m just too damn interested to not know.
Nina looks up at me with those bright blue eyes before she speaks.
“You are my captor.” She says playfully. I just don’t understand this girl.
“Why are you so calm about all of this? Normal people would be scared shitless, and you’re just goin’ with everything.” The question seems to throw her off a little but I’d really like to know why she isn’t fighting me right now.
“I told you that I’ve been through this before. My dad took off after the last time. I haven’t seen or heard from him since. I guess that I’ve just grown used to what’s going to happen, being related to him.” She says. Something pings in my chest.
How could a man let this happen to his own child?
Turning away from her as I nod my head, I can’t make that sit right. That isn’t the way a family should work.
I walk up the stairs hearing all the hoots and hollers coming from inside. Smiling, I know that’s the only family I have left that actually wants me.
I hold the door open for Nina to walk in first, when she dead stops.
Following behind her, I give her a little nudge.
“Blaze! You brought us a woman? How thoughtful!” Rigger, screams at the top of his lungs.
The place smells like a liquor factory as usual.
“She’s not a woman. She’s a kid, and you keep your dick away from her, asshole.” His laughter just grates on my nerves as I lead Nina toward the stairs.
“See what I mean?” I say looking over at her. Nina nods her head but stays closely next to me, as I lead her to my room.
Stepping inside, I’m surprised that the guys haven’t been here. It’s still clean and unlived in.
“You’ll be in here. There’s a bathroom in here so you lock that door when you shower, they won’t come in.” I tell her as I set the bag on bed before checking my phone.
Sending out a few quick texts, I glance back over at her. She looks a little lost right now and for some unknown reason, I don’t like it. I did kidnap the girl.
“You hungry?” Nina shrugs her shoulders which I take as a yes.
“Come on.”
Damn Junkie
Chapter 7
“Hey, Bip. You're on that run with me tomorrow night. Call Trig, too.” The man nods his head pulling his phone from his pocket before I turn to lead Nina toward the kitchen.
We walk down the hallway before I hear it.
“Oh, my God!” Nina’s cry stops me in my tracks. I spin around to see what the hell is going on when I follow her gaze.
“Son of a bitch!” I growl as I walk into the bathroom where Ally lays in a puddle of her own vomit, a needle sticking out of her arm.
I pull the needle free before tossing it in the sink.
“Is she pregnant?” Nina’s voice is shocked as she looks at Ally’s little belly showing. I can’t believe this shit.
“Max! Get the fuck in here!” I scream. Nina jumps slightly before Max storms into the bathroom.
“Jesus. Again?” He asks. I nod my head. This isn’t the first time she’s overdosed. It won’t be the last either, since she still has a pulse.
Ally and I have been together on and off for about four years now. It isn’t anything serious, and she knows it, but that doesn’t stop her from coming back anyway.
“Want me to call for an ambulance or get Bip to take her ass?” Max asks like it’s no big deal. Running my hand through my hair, I look around the small bathroom. I don’t know what the hell to do with this girl anymore.
“Shit! I’ll fuckin’ take her.” I grunt. Max clears his throat before I glance over at him. His eyes are glued to Nina as she stares at Ally.
“What the hell’s she here for, anyway?” Max nods towards her. Swallowing a growl, I snap my neck from side to side.
“Daughter of that Matthew asshole.” Max’s eyes light up before I quickly shut that shit down.
“Don’t fuckin’ look like that! Shit ain’t headin’ that direction, brother.” Max huffs, knowing damn good and well that he isn’t going to go against what I say. These sick fucks are all about a good fuck or a fresh kill. Hell, I typically am too, but not when a kid is involved.
“Get her in the truck.” I tell Max as I nod at Ally. I stand and step over her body before grabbing Nina by the arm and dr
agging her to the kitchen.
“Goddamn junkie.” Mumbling under my breath, I release the hold I have on Nina before blowing out a breath.
“You got two choices here. I gotta take her to the hospital for obvious fuckin’ reasons. You can ride it out with me or stay here in the room. I won’t be around for a while though if you choose to stay here.” I tell her. Her eyes stay locked on mine. So much indecision but playfulness all in one package should be illegal.
“You really are not the kidnapping type.” Her giggles are so soft and sweet; shit has my dick stirring but now isn’t the time for that.
“I’ll go.”
Rehashing the past
Chapter 8
I pace the waiting room, much like I have every other time that we’ve been through this. Yeah, this isn’t round one, that’s for sure.
Nina sits quietly in the corner, not saying a word.
The girl boggles me. I don’t understand this whole, I’ve lived through it before attitude she has.
Granted, I may be the nicer of the assholes that she’s encountered, but that still shouldn’t have her letting her guard down.
Not able to focus on anything, I turn my attention back to Nina. I have questions that need to be answered about her dad.
I sit next to her and blow out a breath but she surprises me when she speaks first.
“Is that your baby?” She asks warily. I don’t want to answer that. I can’t tell you how many babies we’ve actually lost to this shit. Maybe she’s far enough along this time, that it won’t happen again.
“Yeah. She’s always used. Some days are worse than others.” I can hear Nina suck in a breath next to me. That can be a shock I suppose, to people that don’t know Ally. The rest of us are used to it.
“She doesn’t care what happens to the baby?” She asks me sadly. Glancing over at her, I shake my head. As hard as that is to admit, she doesn’t.
“Not really. She never wants them, anyway. It’s probably my fault.”
“So, she’s your girlfriend?” She asks as I lean forward and rest my elbows on my knees while I look at her. She’s getting a little deeper than she really needs to right about now.
“No. You sure have a lot of questions.” Nina averts her eyes but I need to be the one asking questions now, not her.
“Where would I find your dad?” I ask changing the subject. Her head snaps around to look at me, now. Those blue eyes so haunted from a past I’ll never know about.
“Isn’t that the question? Like I told you, I haven’t seen him or talked to him.” Nina folds her hands in her lap before leaning back in the chair.
“Help me out here, Nina. The quicker I find the asshole, the faster you go home.” I tell her. Looking at the look in her eyes, I’d think she didn’t want to go home. Maybe she doesn’t. Maybe, that’s the root of all the hell she’s lived with. Who the hell knows.
“There’s a few places that he rents out sometimes. Two are local, but the other one is out of state. He doesn’t usually go that far, though. His contacts are all local.” She picks her fingers with nervousness. It’s about time she seems to be nervous about something.
“Want to make a deal?” I ask. Her eyes jerk to mine, looking as though I’ve lost my mind.
I very well might have, though. This is me we’re talking about.
“What kind of deal?” She asks me with a smile. I have her attention now.
“I’ll stick around the house, make sure the guys don’t fuck with you.” She waits in silence knowing there’s more.
“And you get, what?” She asks as she stiffens her spine. I can’t help but chuckle. Shit, she really does think people are after her ass.
“Not your ass, sweetheart. You help me find your dad.”
I lean back in the seat letting that sink in. I don’t know the relationship she has with her father, and I really don’t care. I just need to find the asshole and take care of what he owes.
“We don’t get along if that’s what you’re wondering. He used me, just like he used my mom.”
I don’t respond to that. What the hell am I going to say? Sorry? I wasn’t her father.
When no one speaks, Nina finally does. The one word I was hoping she’d say, too.
“Deal.”
Fun Run
Chapter 9
Yesterday was hell. I kept Nina locked in the room last night before making Lee watch out for her tonight.
He’s a good guy, and I know he won’t let the rest of those ruthless bastard’s mess with her while I’m gone.
“Pass me that screw driver.” I tell Trig. He hands me the screw driver as the guy’s eyes widen. I like it when they look like that. The look that they know what’s coming, but are too stupid to fully understand it.
“What the hell, man?” Vincent yells. Grinning from ear to ear, I love this part of my job.
I love being able to take life in my hands. To handle it, own it, and in the end, take it.
Slamming the end of the screwdriver into his hand, I twist it, driving it deeper into his skin.
His screams pierce the silent room, only infuriating me further.
“Don’t be a pussy. I can’t stand a man bein’ a pussy.” I grunt before I pick up the other screw driver doing the same to his other hand.
With both of his hands nailed to the armrests, I walk around him, making my presence known. Well, more so than I’ve already done.
“Every time I tell you that I’ll be here and you run, it makes it a game for me, Vincent. You should know how much I love to play by now.” His eyes are full of tears but that does little to stop my efforts.
“Bring her in.” I say, nodding at Trig. He opens the side door dragging Vincent’s wife, bound and gagged into the room.
“Don’t do this! Don’t do this, Blaze!” He cries. A smile tugs across my face as I pull her into my arms. Begging does something to me. It’s raw, and lets your true emotions show. It takes a lot for a man to beg for something.
I run my tongue down her neck before biting into her shoulder all while she screams behind the duct tape that covers her mouth.
“Blaze! Come on! Tell him I’ll pay! I will!” Vincent pleads with me but that doesn’t affect me. I like the begging, the pleading. It gives me a thrill.
“You want to watch me fuck your pretty wife before I gut her?” I ask him. Her sniffles in my ear are really getting my dick hard now. Maybe I am just a sick fuck, but who the hell wouldn’t like that? Bound and gagged but sniffling through it all?
Vincent’s eyes plead with me. Look at that grown man crying. Sad, really.
Reaching into my back pocket, I pull my knife out. Slowly dragging it up the front of her body, I stop at her heart.
She squirms in my grasp as Vincent cries harder.
“Come on, Vincent! Don’t you wanna watch?” I scream, nodding to Trig. He moves toward him, holding his head steady.
“You messed with the wrong MC.” I tell him with a grin. Trig holds him still as I shove the knife into his wife’s chest.
Holding her back to my front, I feel the life as it slowly fades away from her.
My stomach clenches when I pull the knife out and bring it to her stomach next.
Plunging it deeply, I drag the blade further down as Vincent screams for her.
After I’ve cut her the way I want, I let her dead body slide to the floor at my feet.
“I’ll be back on Monday.” Winking at Vincent, Trig releases his head with slap to the back for good measure.
“Fun run tonight, brother.” Trig says. Slapping Trig’s shoulder, we head back home for the night.
I’d say that was a job well done right there.
Another one lost
Chapter 10
I yawn as I walk into the house. I’m dead tired, and hardly in the mood for anymore shit tonight.
Most of the guys are already asleep, with just few stragglers in the basement that I can hear.
Walking up the stairs, I shrug out of my cut b
efore pulling the key out of my jeans.
Unlocking the door, I step in, to see Nina curled up under the blanket sound asleep.
Something inside of me feels a little sorry for this girl. Bounced around, being kidnapped by God knows who in this game of life, is no way to live.
It especially bothers me that the fucking girl is so used to it! How do you just willingly go with someone that may, or may not, kill you? Maybe she doesn’t care either way anymore. I’ve been to that point more than I care to admit.
Heading into the bathroom, I close the door before turning the shower on.
My mind wanders to Ally, and the baby. I’ve been so tied up with club shit that I haven’t had a chance to call and see how she’s doing.
Climbing in, I let the warm water wash away everything that’s happened today, knowing it will never leave my mind, though.
I wash quickly, knowing I have to be at the club early as fuck in the morning to talk this Matthew shit out with Pres.
I wrap the towel around my waist before heading into the bedroom to grab a pair of shorts.
Looking at my phone sitting on the dresser, I grab it and dial the hospital.
“City General.” The overly happy woman on the other end answers.
“Ally Winters room.” I say. The line goes silent for a minute before the ringing kicks in.
“Hello?” I close my eyes as Ally’s groggy voice filters through the earpiece.
“Hey. It’s me. You okay?” I don’t miss the little sniffles, the ones that always break another piece of my heart. Sometimes I’d like to believe that Ally actually has a heart too, but I know she doesn’t.
Ally was a good girl at one point in her life. Now there’s nothing left of her, from the drugs that eat away at her.
“I’m sorry, Blaze. The baby didn’t...” She begins. I can’t. I can’t hear it again. Another one lost, due to her own fucking addiction. My heart breaks, yet again.
