  Chapter 1

I inhale the nicotine into my lungs before blowing a cloud of smoke through my nose. They don’t see me. They never do. Revenge is something I’m good at. I know how to use my power to get what I want. I know how to be inconspicuous when I need to be. This is an art that I’ve crafted over the years. I’ve perfected it. It’s a game of sorts. It always has been.

I see her walking with her brother and it makes my skin crawl. Everything about that family screams enemy to me. That’s essentially what they are in more ways than one. This revenge that I’ve been plotting for the last nine months has taken many turns. At first, I thought about giving it up, not following through with what I wanted to do to them. Then I thought why the hell wouldn’t I? They killed everything that I held dear. I gave it time to settle in my heart. I gave it time to work its way out of my system, but at the end of the day my mind was made up. I want them to feel the pain and loss that I felt and still feel. I want them to see what it’s like to have a person break under the force of this cruel fucking world we live in.

She doesn’t know me yet, but she will. She became the focus of all the disgusting and dark things that eat away at the back of my mind. She became the chosen one.

My sister never stood a chance with those monsters. I can’t say that I’m much different than they are, though. No, we were cut from the same cloth. We have the same urges and needs running through our veins like molten lava. The need to watch someone break and cry out for you to stop. That nagging voice in the back of your mind telling you to keep going when they beg you to stop. Yeah, she will be on the receiving end of all the devilish things my sick mind can conjure up. When I’m finished with her, and only then, will I send her back to her family as broken and abused as I can possibly make her. I will send her back to them in a state they never thought was possible for another human being. She may not be dead, but she sure as hell will wish she was and that’s exactly what I want. I want her to wake up every night from the nightmare that is me. I want my face, my hands, my torture to be the only thing she can think about, and when the lights go out at night, I want her to scream in fear because she thinks I’m coming back for her.

I flick my cigarette to the ground, smashing it with my boot before I stand and grin.

“Not long now, little flower,” I say under my breath as I watch them walk away. Soon, she will be begging me for the death that my family fell victim to.

  Chapter 2

The hot California sun beats down on my already heated skin. I swing my fist as sweat drips down my temples. The cracking sound resonates through the air as blood sprays from Decan’s mouth. I’m pretty sure I busted his teeth with that blow. His fist collides with my jaw as I smirk at him. Is that all the fucker’s got? Another left hook that he manages to dodge and I throw a right jab that lands on his jaw. His head snaps back and so do his eyes. I watch the way the color disappears as the whites begin to show. It all happens in slow motion. His head wobbles side to side before he finally falls to the ground. The crowd roars around us. I take a step back when I hear Hawk chuckle.

“That son of a bitch will never learn,” he says, slapping a hand on my shoulder.

This isn’t our first fight. In fact, I know it won’t be the last either. This son of a bitch thinks he can take my spot as the club fighter. He always loses no matter how hard he trains. Fighting is in my blood. It’s all I’ve ever known. Why the hell he thinks he can take me is beyond me.

I look down at my bloody brother and wonder what it feels like to be on the receiving end of that shit. What it feels like to have every ounce of strength ripped from your body and used against you. I wouldn’t fucking know though, I’ve never been there.

“Come on, darlin’. I need my dick sucked.” I grab the first little blonde I can find by the hair and drag her toward the clubhouse door. I don’t give a shit who she is or what she looks like. That isn’t of importance to me. All I care about is getting my release and that’s it. My energy is bundled up inside of me and I have to get it the fuck out somehow. You would think kicking the shit out of Decan would have done the trick, but lately it seems that I’m wound tighter than normal. Is it the anticipation of getting my hands on Braylynn, the object of my revenge? Could be. Or the fact that I already know I’m going to fuck every single hole she has as roughly as I can to make her remember me. Maybe it’s that she’s going to be bleeding and begging for death that has me tied up in knots, but either way, I need to get some of that out of my system before I hit the road. I drag the blonde through the main room and to one of the unused rooms. I kick the door closed and shove the blonde to her knees. I pull my zipper down at record speeds and grab the back of her head.

“Open your mouth,” I say gruffly. She does as she’s told, which makes me smile. I don’t like fighting a fucking club whore on what she’s here for. Any other girl? Yeah, I don’t mind but not club whores. Holding the back of her head, I don’t let her toy with me or take her time. I want her sucking then fucking. There is no in-between. I shove my dick into her mouth roughly watching her gag on it. The sight and sound is all too overwhelming. It’s sexy but freeing in a way to watch them choke on me. I buck my hips shoving myself farther into her throat as tears be
gin to burn her eyes. I can’t do anything but grin. That’s the fucking sight I wanted to see. Her tears, her pain. It all combines into one ball of magic for me.

“What’s wrong? Too much?” I ask as if I really give a damn. I don’t. Fuck her. She isn’t shit to me and she knows it, but when she nods her head, I laugh. It’s an evil laugh from the devil himself. She looks up at me with those pleading blue eyes. I shake my head slowly before I really give it to her. My dick touches the back of her throat the harder I rock my hips. She’s choking, gasping, and I fucking love it.

“You throw up, I’ll fuckin’ kill you,” I warn her. Her eyes flash with fear which does nothing more than hardened my dick further. Thrust after thrust, I listen to her gagging. Stupid bitch. She’s a whore. She should just take what the fuck I’m giving her and not cry about it. She knows how we are here. Not a single one of us is a fucking easy romantic guy. We’re disgusting. We’re pieces of shit. We’re fucking Soulless Bastards.

  Chapter 3

The air is fucking hot as hell which means the stale scent of blood is going to be worse. I’ve never been squeamish, but there’s just something about the smell of death that hits you in the stomach like a fist. It doesn’t bother me much anymore. Only that initial hit could take your breath away.

I stalk into the building on a high. The thoughts that run around in this depraved head of mine would scare normal people. At first, they scared me too, but the more I became comfortable with the demon that lurked in the darkness of my heart, the more I grew to enjoy the crazy fuck. The way my heart accelerates when I’m taking things to a new level. The way my breathing starts to sound like shallow breathes. It’s exhilarating.

The smell hits me as I walk into the back room. There it is. The scent of death. The one the grim reaper has thrived on for as long as I’ve been alive. The one that is unmistakable. If you’ve ever been around death, you know that scent. There will never be another that can compare to it. You will never in your life forget that smell.

“Who is that?” I ask Ruger, our enforcer, as I light up a cigarette.

“That is Daze from the Bleeding Aces MC.” My gaze jerks to his. No fucking way. Before I can open my mouth to say anything Ruger nods his head, “Yep. The one you’re thinkin’. Don’t need to ask, brother.” I blow out a breath before taking a step back.

“Fuck! Does Ninja know yet?” Ruger shakes his head slowly before kneeling down next to Daze. Daze was the Enforcer with the Bleeding Aces MC. They’re a friendly to us. We don’t have beef with them and never really have. We’ve all always gotten along pretty well. Good group of guys.

“What the fuck was he doin’ out here alone?” I ask more to myself than Ruger.

“Solo run. He was doin’ recon. Didn’t check in on this one. It happens sometimes.” I nod my head. I know how the enforcers are. Especially Ruger. When he goes out on some recon missions it’s just better that he doesn’t check in. Lines can get crossed, intel can be intercepted. I slide the cigarette between my lips as I squat down next to Daze’s body. I reach over and lift his cut, counting the number of bullet holes he has riddled into him.

“Been dead a few days at least. Six shots. Don’t look like those killed him though. Fucker bled out.” Yeah, I’m that good at death. The guys always laugh at me and tell me I should have been a cop. They always joke about how well I can read a crime scene.

“Shit. So, whoever did this shit wanted him to suffer. They knew he was on our turf, too.” I blow out a ring of smoke before I stand back up and stretch my back.

“Call Hawk. Get him to send out the clean-up guys. I’ll fuckin’ call Ninja.” I slide my phone out before walking around the old broken-down building. It’s one of ours that we used for holding assholes in when we didn’t want them at the compound. I don’t think it will be an option any longer now that someone has figured out we also let Bleeding Aces use it.

“Smokey! Been a long time, brother,” Ninja hollers into the phone. It has but this isn’t a typical how you doing type of call.

“Got a problem, brother. One of your guys is dead in my buildin’. You ain’t gonna like this, but it’s Daze.” Ninja curses under his breath. It’s never a good feeling when you learn one of your own has been killed. It’s hard. You feel that grief and anguish, but you also feel rage and hatred. You want the motherfucker who did it so bad you can taste it, and when you have nothing to go on, you feel empty. There are so many emotions that come along with this life. Hatred being the main one. You hate the motherfuckers who got past your barriers. You hate that you weren’t there to help your brother.

  “Any signs?” he asks softly.

“No. Shot six times. Looks like he bled out. They didn’t want it to be quick. I’m closin’ down the buildin’. Clean-up crew’s on the way, but we’ll have him ready for you. No doubt that I’ll do whatever the fuck I can, Ninja.” That’s the best reassurance I can give him. That’s all I can do. I can’t hand over the motherfucker who did this, but I can give him my word that I will do whatever the hell I can to find the bastards that did it. I can reassure him that we are on his side on this.

“Fuck, Smokey. This is bullshit, brother. You know I just buried Range not even a month ago. What the fuck is goin’ on!” he roars.

Shit, I didn’t know he buried Range. I run my hand over my face, blowing out a breath.

“Fuck, Ninja. I didn’t know. We’ll get these motherfuckers. Get a crew down here and we’ll get you set up on the compound. I’ll get intel runnin’ while you get on your way,” I tell him.

“Appreciate that, Smokey. See you in a few days.” The line goes dead as I wander the old building looking for any clues that may help us figure out who the hell was behind this shit. You don’t kill a brother and walk. You will bleed the same way he bled.

  Chapter 4

“We know that it wasn’t us. We’ve never had a rift with Bleeding Aces. They’ve always been good guys and stepped up when needed. Now it’s our time to step up. We have the manpower that not many MCs have. We have the hearts of killers in this motherfucker! Ninja and his boys are comin’ down to get their brother. We will accommodate them and work with whatever they need. The coroner has been informed of the situation and God knows we pay that fucker enough to keep his mouth shut. Anyone have any other insights?” Hawk glances around the table, but no one says a word. “Then that’s it. Let’s get this place in order.” He slams the gavel on the dark wooden table in front of us. The guys all file out to handle business, but I stay back watching Hawk. His eyes are glazed and he looks off.

“What’s goin’ on in there?” I nod at his head. He shakes it before sitting back in his chair.

“Fuckin’ Daze of all the motherfuckers to hit? Why him? Why in our buildin’? They tryin’ to pin this shit on us?” he says in one breath.

“Didn’t look that way. Looks like Daze was hangin’ in there for a while and shit happened.” When the words come out of my mouth, I have to rethink them. Why was he in there? The building has always been empty for as long as we’ve owned it. We only used it on occasion to conduct business that we didn’t want to bring home with us.

“I see the fuckin’ wheels turnin’. What the hell are you thinkin’?” Hawk snaps at me. I shake my head, running my hand through my hair. I hate this shit. I fucking hate it all.

“This a message to Aces or us? He’s in our buildin’, man. Who the fuck would have thought to look there? We haven’t used it in months.” Hawk watches me intently. My nerves are on edge.

“You think it was inside?” he growls.

My heart kicks up a notch. I didn’t want to be the one to say it. I didn’t want to fucking think it.

“Inside whose club would be the better question. We have nothin’ against Aces. Never have. Why would any of ours want him dead?” I ask the question more to myself. I don’t like having loose ends. I want my shit in order even if it is just in my head.

“Fuck, Smokey!” Hawk roars. “When they get in and set up, we pull
Ninja aside. There is no way in fuck that we can have a goddamn traitor wanderin’ around here!” His face has reddened to the point his veins throb in his neck. Hawk’s a lethal son of a bitch, and I love every second of being his second in command.

“That means your shits gotta wait,” he says, calming his voice slightly.

The fuck it will! I’ve planned for too long and too hard to have some other clubs fuck up interfere with my plans! “Fuck that, Hawk! You know I need this shit!” I roar. He will not take that shit away from me. I won’t let it happen.

“We got too much comin’ our way, Smokey! You think you can handle addin’ some bitch to the mix?”

His growl only pisses me off. I’ve planned this for nine long fucking months. The pain of my family’s death still lingers inside of me every fucking day. How can he think that I would back down on this? “You know I can handle it. Club business always comes first, Hawk. Don’t you fuckin’ dare act like I would change that!” I thunder as I shove out of my chair, hands clenched at my sides.

Hawk watches me knowing that I’ll snap. He’s seen it happen before. Hawk nods his head slowly tugging at his greying hair. “She’s on you then, Smokey. I can’t be in the middle of that shit right now. You know I have your back, but Daze’s killer comes first. Make the fuckin’ announcement, but the brothers are on this murder first and foremost.” His voice has calmed significantly.

I nod my head once, grateful that I didn’t have to lose my shit with my own president. Hawk knows I’m a loose cannon, which is why I was voted in as VP of this chapter.

“Hawk, you know this club is all I got. You know I wouldn’t put his death to the side for my own fuckin’ revenge. Bringin’ her in changes nothin’. I’m still on point with this shit.”

Hawk pulls his gaze to mine and nods. “I know that. I just don’t like the direction this shit’s headin’, Smokey. Too many things aren’t addin’ up, and this shit just started,” he says grabbing the bottle of Vodka off the table.
